2 months!

Well, here's our big ol' two month old boy! I can't believe it's already been two months and Mike says he feels like it's been 5 years already! Tyler's two month appointment went really well except for the shots which I probably had a harder time with than he did. Tyler is in the 50th percentile on weight (10 lbs. 13 oz) and length (22 inches) and it's the one time that we're happy that he's "average". Our little boy is starting to let his personality show and has been telling anyone who will listen (including ceiling fans and walls) "stories". He loves to coo and is starting to blow raspberries and it couldn't be funnier! I've tried to get a video of it, but the child freezes whenever he sees a camera. I'll keep trying and hopefully will have a video up soon, but to tide everyone over, here's some new pics. As you can tell, our dog Obi might be as big a fan of Tyler as we are!

Smiles, smiles everywhere

Well...It happened...I think I've seen the best thing I've ever seen. Tyler has started smiling! While the smiles are usually reserved for his mobile, his mirror (little Narcissist in the making) and his Dad, I've been getting the occasional smile too! I'm so excited for this "first" and look forward to many more.

He's Here!

I know...I know...it's been three weeks since our son, Tyler Joseph, arrived, but jeeze it's hard work taking care of a newborn! We've been learning the ropes and trying to get some sleep. Mike is a pro at giving baths and changing diapers while I seem to get peed on every single diaper change! It has been an amazing three weeks that have gone by so fast already! We can't believe how amazing it is to have our boy here and I think we fall more in love with him every day.

Baby Shower

I know, I know...it's been awhile...I've been so busy being pregnant that it's hard to write about being pregnant!

Everything is going well...We have the nursery almost all set up and I should have some pictures to post on that next week hopefully. However, I've finally decided to post some pictures from our baby shower that was back in October. We had a great bbq full of friends and family. It was a great time and I really have to thank my parents again for letting us storm their house and make a mess again!

2nd Ultrasound

As I previously promised, here are pictures from our 2nd Ultrasound that was done 8/28/08. Everything looked great even though he had to get shaken up a bit so we could get some good pictures. I'm glad the sonographer knew what she was doing because I still can't see any "boy parts" but apparently she did! I promise to have some fat belly pics up next week so my mother will stop following me around with a camera!

It's a boy!

Yay! Mike and I went in for our second ultrasound last week (pictures will be up this week) and found out that we were right and our little one is a boy! Now the shopping and name negotiating begin! I will post more this week and maybe even a picture of my super fat belly! I'm now 21 weeks along (past the 1/2 way point, yay!) so there's definitely no more hiding it!

Baby blog? What's a baby blog?

Ah...the many things that the husband of a pregnant woman doesn't understand. When I mentioned to Mike that I'd be starting a blog about our pregnancy all I got was a quizzical look. Anyway, I'll be posting here occasionally with pictures, general info about what's going on with me and the baby and probably some whining and complaining. Mike and I are both really excited to be parents and I'm glad technology is allowing us to share some of our journey with our friends and family that are not here to see it first hand (lucky!) and those of you that are here in Albuquerque with us (my apologies).

The pictures in this post are from our first ultrasound which was done on 6/4/08 of our little guy (we're both convinced it's a boy so of course it will be a girl). I'm currently in the 12th week and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel that is the 1st trimester. I don't think I'll be missing the nausea, but I did already have to buy maternity jeans this weekend...sigh...
